The reagent strips detect 10 different parameters in urine. By changing color, each zone signals the presence or abnormality of a given substance:

• Glucose (GLU) – an indication of diabetes or impaired glucose metabolism

• Bilirubin (BIL) – a marker of liver dysfunction

• Ketones (KET) – a metabolic indicator of diabetes or fasting

• Specific gravity (SG) – a concentration of urine related to hydration and kidney function

• Blood (BLO) – an indication of damage, inflammation or stones

• pH – measures the acidity/alkalinity of urine

• Protein (PRO) – indicates possible kidney dysfunction

• Urobilinogen (URO) – an additional liver marker

• Nitrite (NIT) – a product of bacterial activity associated with UTI

• Leukocytes (LEU) – the presence of white blood cells, an indicator of inflammation
